Generative Processes, features the work of Alex Paik and Debra Ramsay. Their color palettes generate an immediate sense of relationship, Paik arrives at his intuitively, while Ramsay’s is system-based. The artists share a generative process of making, a cultivation of a standardized element that is repeated and worked.Featuring the work of Alex Paik and Debra Ramsay. I'm delighted to be showing work from my Time As Landscape series in conjunction with the work of Alex Paik at Tiger Strikes Asteroid Gallery.

The exhibit highlights shared elements within our practices and cites the particular manifestation of each. The work operates on an intimate and humble level, combining the abstract and cerebral with grace and humor.

An accompanying catalog will feature an essay by Carl Belz, Director Emeritus of the Rose Art Museum, Brandeis University.

I hope you can see the show:

The effects of a fold on a Pink line, 10 inches square, colored pencil on vellum, 2013.

It’s been called “retinally intoxicating.”

Artist, writer, editor Thomas Micchelli comments on the “forthrightness of this work” and the “irresistible intensity of its designs and pigments…”

In 2012 the exhibition Doppler Stop, curated by Mel Prest, traveled to Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Berlin, and Zagreb. It included works from artists from the US, the Netherlands, Germany and France. The exhibition catalog explained, “…work that optically straddles this un-locatable perceptual space where static objects move and shift or trigger simultaneous sense readings.”

An expanded exhibition, Doppler, showed at Parallel Art Space in Bushwick, Brooklyn in 2013.

Now, Doppler Shift, curated by Mary Birmingham, is a revisitation with variation of the previous exhibitions.

Come and experience the exhibition for yourself.

There are a variety of ways to do that:
